What if You had to Pick Just 1?

I was inspired to do this painting by the snafu which transpired by which Prince Harry of England wore a Nazi uniform to a costume party. People were enraged and it got me thinking how the swastika still enrages people into an intense frenzy. I then thought about two other symbols, these from religions which also get people enraged, one is the Star of David the other the Cross. So I decided to pose a question, What if You had to Pick Just 1? So the painting was born out of this question. Now people ask, "why is this in the Profane series, what does it mean?" Well it is in the Profane series because the question in and of itself is unfair. Am I asking you to pick one of these to follow as your course of life? Am I asking you which one you would like to eliminate forever? Do I have any right to ask you at all? Now ask yourself, which would the Jew pick, or the Christian, how about the Muslim? Which would a racist pick... how about an atheist? The answer would leave someone feeling a bit Profaned, don't you think?
